Happy Holidays!

December 24th, 2010

Happy Holidays from all of us here at Watches in Movies (which is just me, of course). Keep watching your favorite films for those watch appearances (can anyone tell what Clark is wearing in “Christmas Vacation”?) and keep sending them my way. I have a handful of new posts to add after the Christmas weekend.

Again, all the best in this holiday season and I am excited about what 2011 holds!

Your Watch Friend,

James

A WIM Success Story

November 18th, 2010

Congrats to Richard, who recently sent in a screen shot from “The Exorcist” asking which watch was being worn. It was identified and now he has one on his own wrist!

Some Site Updates

October 28th, 2010

Some exciting changes around these parts! Like what? Well, like this:

  • First off, the site has an updated theme which will lend to some additional functionality and features. The old theme was up for a year and I felt it was time for a change.
  • We now have a brand spanking new discussion forum! The site has been missing a proper place to discuss movies and watches that do not have a current post, so now we do. My thanks to PMWF.com for allowing me to host the site on their wonderful platform.
  • And yes, the site does now have advertising. A little bit, anyway. I’m not trying to get rich, just off set the cost of hosting, which I have been paying out of my own pocket these past few years. My hope is to be able to add some valued parters to allow viewers to not just see the watches, but to have a trusted place to buy them as well.

That’s all for now. I’m working on a few other things like featured posts (see the sidebar at the right) and a couple other tweaks.

Thanks for visiting and for your participation in the growth of the site!

Watches in Movies featured in QP Magazine

June 2nd, 2010

I was approached back in April by Tracey Llewellyn of QP Magazine who was writing an article on watch placement in movies. Tracey had found the site and asked if I was interested in being interviewed for the article. I graciously accepted and am pleased to say that the (well done) article is now available in Issue 42.

You can read the article in its entirety at the QP Magazine web site simply by registering with the site.

Thank you again, Tracey, for the opportunity to contribute to your article. And welcome to any new fans as a result of the magazine.
