This is most likely a Lorus, isn’t it ?

  • Lauri

Don’t know about Lorus, but since it says ‘Swiss Made’ on the dial it could even be a Genta. Here’s a higher resolution version: http://yfrog.com/28davincienkelitjademonitj

The conversation, which happens between Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) and Vittoria Vetra (Ayelet Zurer) when he looks at his piece, is interesting:
    - Vetra: Is that Mickey Mouse?
    - Langdon: Yeah… It’s a long story.

The Mickey Mouse connection is never explained, but he wore it too in the first Da Vinci film.

Its a Bradley made, 1970′s Mickey Mouse watch, unlike most other designs the Mickey Mouse character has red hands. The writing of “Mickey Mouse” either side of the character is associated with Bradley to.

There’s a selection of them with history at http://www.mickeymousewatches.co.uk, thats where I got the info from, if you look at the Bradley section all the Mickey Mouse watch faces look like the one above and the one in the link. Hope I helped :-)

The Mickey Mouse watch worn by “Robert Langdon” (Tom Hanks) in Angels & Demons is too new in design to be a watch that Langdon’s parents gave him at age ten. When Langdon was ten, Mickey would have been facing straight forward with one foot on either side of the number six. The figure was changed to the current “walking Mickey” because people complained that twice-a-day, at 6:30, Mickey was covering his crotch.

Langdon’s watch bears the newer “walking Mickey.”(The watch is in the Vatican Archives scene, 35:33 into the DVD.)

In the book was watches with Mickey MOuse, but I think taht it supousset to be ROLEX from 70, but it was not used in movie :-(

The watch pictured above is a Bradley pie eyed ‘fat boy’ version. A fatter more centralised Mickey with the right foot, without the tread pattern, above the number 7, and Mickey’s tail facing downwards. Bradley started producing Disney Mickey watches in 1972.

  • Owen

    I agree with D completely.

  • Sergi

I always liked looking for hidden mickeys.
The ones in the Haunted Mansion and the Adventurers Club were always my favorites.
