Bernard Lawrence “Bernie” Madoff ‘s 1936 18kt Rolex chronograph (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernard_Madoff). Dial and hands had been “professionally restored”. It was not purchased by the pawn shop. Pawn shop owner Rick Rick Harrison said “It's all legitimate Rolex, case is Rolex, the movement is Rolex… Except for the face [sic] and the hands.”
Interesting side note, it was mentioned to be lot nr 0234 from a US Marshals Service auction:
